AOD's 2019 Scramble for Scholarships (held May 13, 2019 at the Huntsville Country Club) netted over $7,000 for scholarships, enough for 7 scholarships!  Due to issues with last year's Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) training provider, we are re-training last year's scholarship awardees at a new training provider, the CNA Academy in Madison, AL.

Latrice Houston, Shandora Moore, and Porsha Smiley (all scholarship awardees from last year) graduated  June 8, 2019 from the CNA Academy.  The CNA Academy offers the CNA training program and the state licensing test on various flexible schedules.  The program these ladies went through was 10 weeks every Saturday to include clinicals at a local nursing home.  All three are working as CNAs and have plans to continue their medical training careers.  Latrice plans to start a Licensed Practical Nursing program, Shandora plans to become an Operating Room technician, and Porsha plans to start the Radiology tech program at Wallace State.  Hill Technology Solutions Inc (HTSI) and Torch Technologies were scholarship level sponsors this year and other funds came from the many other sponsors, players, and donors.  Thank you all!  God Bless and congratulations to these ladies!

Tawana Eaton (another scholarship awardee from last year) is now enrolled at the CNA Academy and we plan on awarding at least three more scholarships this summer.
